New job, new job, new job!!!!

I start tomorrow, I'm nervous, but excited and I think I'll be able to do it well.

I also have a new haircut and a long term loaner laptop from a friend, so I'm feeling on top of the world.

So taking off and fleeing the country for six weeks was amazing.  Guatemala is unbelieveably beautiful and the people were really nice.  My Spanish has improved dramatically and my anxiety was almost entirely work related.  Now that I'm back I have a little bit of not having work related anxiety, but I'm sure I'll find something.

It's snowy, very snowy.  But I have tea, my laptop, endless books, the LOTR trilogy and AOS on DVD, a few episodes of the West Wing on iTunes.
And the best roommate in the whole world made chocolate chip pancakes.
I think I win today!

So next week I'm leaving  my job.  On the one hand, it's been horribly stressful for years and I really can't take it anymore. So this is a relief.

On the other hand, I'm leaving the place I've worked for four years in a crappy economy.

But then I get a bit of severance pay and should be able to temp and or find something new pretty easily. For some reason half the non-profit world is hiring in DC now. So there's nothing to freak out about.

I might sublet my room and go to Guatemala to study spanish for a few weeks. It's really cheap there and it would be an adventure and something different and you really can apply for jobs from there, since it's mostly online now...

But this could possibly be the worst idea I ever had. Because I'm leaving my job in a crappy economy!

I don't know what to do.

Well, hello!

Basically, I'm a long term lurker.  I finally decided I wanted to be able to comment when people turn off anon commenting and to track things.
So that's why I'm here. It's very unlikely that I'll do more than that.  But you never know.
